Installing it

Three steps, about a minute.

  1. Quit Premiere Pro Extensions are only picked up when Premiere starts, so it has to be closed first.
  2. Open the downloaded Subquill.pkg It opens the macOS installer. Click through it — it asks for your Mac’s password, because Subquill is installed for everyone who uses this Mac.
  3. Start Premiere and open Window › Extensions › Subquill The first time it opens, Subquill downloads what it needs to run. This might take a few minutes, and only happens once — after that it never needs the internet to caption.

Having trouble?

If the panel does not appear in the Extensions menu, the usual cause is Premiere still running from before the install. Quit it completely and start it again. Anything else, write to support@subquill.com and tell us your Premiere version — we answer.
